What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Representative position at Fond du Lac Reservation?
- Responsibilities: Develop, schedule and present training curriculum to employees of the enterprises.
- Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
Confer with management and staff to assess the training needs and objectives.
Track and create reports on outcomes of all training conducted and maintain training records.
At the direction of the Human Resource Manager, prepares proposed training outlines and makes recommendations for instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of adult learning principles and specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
Recommends or develops teaching aids, such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
Conducts/coordinates training sessions covering specified areas (i.e., new employee orientation, policy and procedures, soft & technical skills, public relations, refresher training, career development and leadership development).
Assists in the progress and evaluation of the effectiveness of the training.
Establishes a library of training resources and reference materials. Maintains inventory records and monitors the loan or use of any materials.
Assist the Human Resource Manager in the establishment and monitoring of the annual training budget.
Performs data entry duties as necessary.
Assists in the maintenance of computer training records.
Provides copies of training information and records for personnel files.
Contributes to employee newsletters as directed.
Ensures that the confidentiality of all employees is respected with absolutely no infractions.
Appropriate work attire is required.
Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
Must attend all required Title 31 and/or SAR trainings.
Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
A.A. or A.A.S. degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Business administration, or other closely related field is preferred.
3 years’ professional experience in Human Resources is required.
1 year of demonstrated experience developing and delivering training or public speaking is required.
Knowledge in traditional and modern training methods and techniques is preferred.
Knowledgeable about learning management systems, instructional design and e-learning platforms is preferred.
Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, data bases and/or data entry, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook is required.
Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors is required.
Exceptional interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
Some travel may be required.
