What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at Fond du Lac Reservation?
- Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain the Human Services Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and quality assurance programs, ensuring alignment with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
Establish measurable quality indicators and performance metrics with Human Services Division leadership across all departments and programs.
Lead internal evaluations and audits, including reviews of documentation, billing, and operational compliance with tribal, federal, state, and accreditation standards.
Identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plans in collaboration with Human Services Division leadership.
Supervises assigned staff, including recruitment, selection, training, performance evaluation, and corrective action as needed.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by staying current on changes in healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement practices through training, publications, and professional networks.
Establish patient / employee satisfaction measurement and monitoring systems to ensure highest level of care in a user focused system – based on establish FDL cultural standards.
Serve as the Divisions primary contact for accreditation activities, including yearly readiness reviews, documentation, and follow-up on findings.
Assist in implementation and development of policies, programs, and practice to ensure that organization complies with Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal Data Privacy Act and Accreditation/Credentialing standards.
Collaborate with Division leadership on training and compliance plans tied to quality and safety standards.
Manages the patient behavior policy and related review committees.
Serves as the primary contact for incidents, reviews, and communication regarding patient behavior and safety concerns.
Appropriate work attire is required.
Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Public Health, or Human Services is required.
Minimum of three years of experience in planning, coordinating, implementing, and managing quality assurance programs or activities, is required.
Minimum of two years of experience in employee supervision is required.
Minimum of two years of experience working in a Tribal community is required.
Familiarity with health care and human services laws, regulations and standards preferred.
Experience with accreditation standards and compliance is preferred.
Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, databases and/or data entry, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.

Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
