What are the responsibilities and job description for the Families First Prevention Supervisor position at Fond du Lac Reservation?
- Responsibilities: Provide leadership in program planning and strategic decision-making.
- Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
Promote culturally appropriate and trauma-informed practices.
Ensure staff are informed of and trained in best practices in child welfare prevention.
Maintain positive and effective public relations with local, private, and government agencies.
Coordinate available resources to meet client family needs.
Serve as a liaison between the Family First team and other departments or community partners.
Communicate project requirements, procedural changes, assignments, and general administrative updates from leadership to Family First Social Workers.
Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
Assist with supervision of Family First Social Workers including hiring process, scheduling, performance review, promotions, and disciplinary actions if needed.
Screen and accept referrals from coordinating agencies, FDL, providers, courts and individuals.
Assign cases as needed to Family First Social Workers.
Assist Family First Social Workers in the development of appropriate service plans for clients, follow-up and call consultations.
Assist with reviewing department policies and procedures.
Assist with case reviews as needed.
Attend court hearings as necessary.
Oversee accurate record keeping for timely audits.
Serve as primary case manager as needed.
Maintain client records.
Assist in initial meetings and home visits as needed.
Conduct file audits as directed by department Director.
Complete and submit reports promptly to include monthly RBC reports, daily logs, master list, funding source required data, and all other data requested by Director.
Appropriate work attire is required.
Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Eligibility determined by FDL’s insurance company.
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field is required.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in Child Welfare is required. 5 years preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with American Indian communities, culture, customs, traditions, and beliefs is required. 5 years preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with American Indian clients, communities, and can demonstrate cultural sensitivity is required. 5 years preferred.
Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience is preferred.
Knowledge of court systems is preferred.
Experience with group facilitation preferred.
Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, data bases and/or data entry, Spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
Travel is required.

Salary : $62,130 - $69,897
