POSITION SUMMARY
Fomas is seeking CNC Machine Operators that are able to machine rings within specified tolerances by interpreting blueprints and written instructions and assist Team Leader in daily duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as applicable.
- Follow daily machining schedule to ensure on-time delivery. May receive additional instructions from Machining Team Leader regarding schedule.
- Proficient in the operation of both CNC and Manual VTL's and VBM's.
- Write and modify G-Code programs for CNC equipment. Train other machine operators in writing and modifying G-Code programs as time and talents permit.
- Follow all processing instructions supplied in the job packet which includes part drawing, identification instructions, and special instructions as required. Notify others of special requirements to prevent defects.
- Maintain product identification at all times throughout the machining process
- Load, center, and chuck parts properly.
- Key in and out of every job
- Select proper tools, RPM, IPR, machining sequence and depth of cut.
- Follow all departmental procedures and work instructions while adhering to the Fomas Quality System. Assist in ensuring that CNC machine operators are following company-wide procedures and requirements. Advise Team Leader of any quality problems or concerns.
- Operate as required all machinery and equipment in the Machining Department and assist in other departments and areas of the plant as needed and directed.
- Follow all plant rules and procedures within the department to ensure safe operating practices in order to prevent employee injury and/or equipment failure. Reports safety problems or concerns to Team Leader.
- Adhere to company-wide housekeeping standards in personal area and within department.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have close, distance, color, and peripheral vision along with depth perception. The employee must have the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand or walk, reach with hands or arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and stoop, kneel, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and pull or push. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
