Established, busy specialty medical practice is looking for someone to fill a (licensed) Medical Assistant opening. This individual must be a multi-tasker, detail-oriented, and composed when handling the day-to-day tasks the position entails.
Folsom Dermatology was founded a decade ago by two board-certified dermatologists dedicated to their patients and their practice. The practice offers a wide range of medical and cosmetic services and professional expertise that incorporates the latest clinical knowledge and treatments for patients. The practice is physician-owned and operated with a patient and person-focused standard of care in order to develop the best treatment solution possible.
The Medical Assistant (MA) position is responsible for ensuring a smooth patient and workflow within the back office and assisting the physicians in implementing plan of care. The MA performs a variety of back office and patient-related tasks supporting the physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate should be professional, compassionate, composed, hardworking, and be able to multitask. Candidate should be comfortable working in a team, and assisting with various tasks that fall under the responsibility of the entire back office.
Core duties including but not limited to:
- Checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure rooms, collecting patient history, assisting physicians with various procedures, charting, relaying information from the patient to the physician and vice versa, answering calls/returning voicemails as applicable
- Sending prescriptions as approved by the physician, preparing referrals as requested by the physician, cleaning/stocking exam and procedure rooms, sanitize instruments and keep record per office procedure
The position requires excellent customer service skills, exceptional written/verbal communication, the ability to ensure a positive patient experience in a fast-paced environment, and dedication to learning and operating within established procedure. Patient etiquette is a must. An ideal candidate will is an excellent multitasker, efficient worker and is always willing to grow and expand their skillset.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Medical office: 2 years (Preferred)
- Medical assisting: 3 years (Preferred)
- Computer skills: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CA Medical Board-approved medical assistant certification (Preferred)
