We're looking to hire a bilingual Dari/Farsi speaking- Career Specialist. A position is responsible for providing comprehensive employment services to diverse populations, with a focus on refugees, immigrants, and participants with limited English and work experience. This includes computer lab support, workshop facilitation, participant intake and assessment, case management, individualized career coaching, employer engagement, job development, outreach, and data tracking and reporting. All duties will be performed in a strengths-based, person-centered, culturally responsive, empowerment-focused, and trauma-informed manner.
Hours: Non-exempt, Part time (32 hours per week)
Wage Range: $25 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, email clients, calendar/scheduling tools, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet).
- Experience with case management systems, data entry, tracking outcomes, and reporting.
- Ability to teach participants basic computer skills, internet navigation, and online applications.
- Knowledge of workforce development programs, labor market trends, and emerging industries.
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, and advocacy skills, with a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License or valid ID.
- Have access to an automobile in good working order and minimum level auto insurance specified by CA law.
- Have reliable transportation to and from assigned worksites.
- Have the ability to travel offsite as needed.
- Must be able to pass a DOJ & FBI criminal background check and DMV record check.
Education and Experience:
- Fluent in Dari/Farsi (verbal/written) required
- AA/Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.(preferred)
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience providing career services, workforce development, case management, or related support to diverse populations, including refugees, immigrants, or system-impacted individuals. (required)
- Experience facilitating workshops, trainings, or group sessions.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
