Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver customized dog training sessions focusing on obedience, behavior modification, socialization, and agility.
  • Assess each dog’s temperament, learning style, and training needs to develop effective training plans.
  • Demonstrate proper handling techniques, including animal restraint and safe interaction practices.
  • Educate pet owners on training methods, behavioral cues, pet care routines, and ongoing support strategies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for dogs during training sessions, ensuring proper kennel management when necessary.
  • Track progress through detailed documentation of training milestones and behavioral observations.
  • Collaborate with veterinary professionals to address behavioral issues related to medical conditions or veterinary experiences.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dog training with a strong understanding of canine behavior principles.
  • Background in veterinary or animal care fields such as veterinary technician experience or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in animal handling, including pet grooming, pet sitting, and animal restraint techniques.
  • Familiarity with equine or other animal handling is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment setup or moving animals safely.
  • Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
