A leading acute care hospital in San Antonio is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to oversee a high-performing Emergency Department within a large, fast-paced hospital environment.

Position Overview
The Director of Emergency Services will provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while overseeing staffing, budgeting, patient throughput, compliance, and departmental performance.
The Director will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and lead a strong existing leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the Emergency Department
- Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and operational efficiency initiatives
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and productivity management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards
- Support patient throughput and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Mentor and develop nursing leadership and frontline staff
- Implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and departmental performance
- Partner with executive leadership and physicians to support service line growth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience required
- 3 years of applicable leadership experience preferred
- Strong Emergency Department leadership background within an acute care hospital setting preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $145,000 – $160,000 annually depending on experience
- Incentive bonus: 17.5% – 26.25%
- $20,000 sign-on bonus
- $15,000 relocation assistance
- Full-time leadership opportunity with day shifts and no weekends
