Seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Carpenter to oversee and coordinate various construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, construction, blueprint reading, current building codes, and site management. This leadership role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to supervise teams on diverse job sites. The Lead Carpenter will play a critical role in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards across multiple disciplines including remodeling, restoration, and general construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction crews on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety protocols
- Oversee the execution of tasks such as framing, trim carpentry, drywall installation, siding, soffit/fascia installation, flooring, etc
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution
- Assess materials and supply needs for daily work in order to ensure materials, etc. can be ordered and/or obtained before needed.
- Coordinate with company owner, office, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Perform or assist with heavy lifting, demolition, framing, and other tasks as needed
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks including cabinetry installation, door hanging, caulking, basic electrical work, basic plumbing, and remodeling.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting work progress and finished projects for compliance with specifications
- Provide mentorship to team members to promote skill development and maintain high productivity levels
Experience
- Proven experience in the restoration industry or general construction environment with a focus on carpentry or related trades
- Extensive knowledge of construction, building codes, and blueprint reading
- Hands-on experience with framing, roofing (including shingles), siding (vinyl or fiber cement), drywall finishing, flooring installation (tile, LVP, wood, etc) and fixture mounting
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical or plumbing systems is preferred
- Ability to lead teams effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards
- Prior experience in remodeling projects involving cabinetry, door hanging, painting, tile work, or masonry is advantageous
- This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing multiple facets of construction projects while demonstrating leadership qualities. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise combined with excellent organizational skills to deliver outstanding results on every project.
Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
