The Lead Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing data analytics solutions that enable the organization to make data-driven decisions. This role works closely with enterprise stakeholders to identify requirements and then designs solutions that meet their needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement end-to-end scalable and maintainable solutions using technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business users and IT leadership, to understand their requirements and design solutions that meet their needs.
- Develop data dictionaries, mapping, functional design, and other technical documentation.
- Perform data analysis and profiling to identify data quality issues and work with data owners to resolve them.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluate their potential use in the organization.
- Participate in project planning, including estimating development efforts and managing project timelines and resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
- 7 years of experience designing and implementing end-to-end data analytics solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing semantic layers for Business Intelligence and Analytics consumption.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines, and experience developing them.
- Experience developing actionable reports and dashboards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets or business requirements and translate them into tangible solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Experience in project management and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Cloud certifications are a plus.
- Experience working in the retail and education industries is a plus.
