The Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) Specialist will assist Foley’s five industry teams (Fashion, Apparel, & Beauty; Food & Beverage; Hospitality & Leisure; Sports & Entertainment; Cannabis) through efficient and effective execution of BD&M activities. The right candidate will have strong project management skills to assist in planning and executing projects, programs, activities, and processes that support Foley’s five industry teams in their business development and marketing plans, budgets, and strategies. This position will work closely with the BD&M Industry Manager to stay versed on emerging legal and market trends, assist with opportunity and return on investment (ROI) tracking, and help position the firm for increased revenue and profile-raising opportunities.

Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, - $77,300 to $108,200
Los Angeles - $80,800 to $113,200
Boston and Washington D.C. - $84,400 to $118,100

Responsibilities
- Help execute the delivery of innovative, distinctive, and integrated business development and marketing programs, including client events, targeted seminar programs, client-facing material production, and digital and social media initiatives.
- Manage and support firm-sponsored events and conferences/seminars, including logistics, drafting and distributing invitations, developing and maintaining mailing lists, preparing materials, tracking RSVPs, follow-up communications, and tracking opportunities generated and their ROI.
- Develop and maintain compelling pitches/RFPs, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Create and distribute thought leadership materials, such as client alerts and industry outlooks, through mass mailings, digital media postings, and internal newsletters.
- Update and maintain the firm's CRM database, including list segmentation, external mailings, invitation and mailing list development, RSVP tracking, and running reports to support campaigns, events, and business development initiatives.
- Identify key industry memberships, sponsorships, and events that provide new sources for profile raising and lead generation. Manage those organizations with which the firm engages to ensure the firm receives the maximum return on its investment.
- Draft submissions to award programs and directories aligned to the industry teams and track key award opportunities.
- Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility.
- Work with the communications and PR team to maintain the internal and external profile for the industry teams by publicizing news items, lawyer achievements, thought leadership, and events.
- Utilize and champion firm tools to support BD&M and firm initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of business development and/or marketing experience in a professional services industry with demonstrated project management experience required.
- Understanding of the legal industry and/or relevant industries (Fashion, Apparel, & Beauty; Food & Beverage; Hospitality & Leisure; Sports & Entertainment; Cannabis) preferred.
