Foley Family Farms (FFF) is a rapidly growing West Coast company with farming in California and Oregon. The Safety, Compliance, and Housing Manager will work will Foley Family Farms employees and outside contractors in both California and Oregon.
Job Summary
Responsible for implementing and executing a robust safety program, overseeing company-owned housing, and ensuring regulatory compliance related to safety. Centralize the information, knowledge, and scheduling of all training and maintenance activities for our safety, compliance, and employee housing.
** This position will be based out of Sonoma County, California. They will be required to travel as needed to additional counties, with the majority of vineyards, employees, and housing being positioned in Sonoma County. Primary office location in Sonoma County is flexible depending on commute distance. **
\n- Report to the Senior Director of Winegrowing to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards, and coordinate with the Foley Family Wines and Spirits safety team.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and safety concerns. Recommend corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations and inform the Human Resources team about these corrections.
- Complete facility inspections and participate in producing corrective actions with regular reporting to all state and county authorities.
- Complete housing safety inspections and recommend improvements for both compliance and quality of life.
- Prepare injury/illness and noninjury incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary.
- Oversee workers compensation claim management and return to work programs.
- Investigate, track, and document accidents and near misses to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
- Conduct and document incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, follow-up, and closure for all safety related events.
- Oversee safety and compliance training pertinent to the Trucking Operations.
- Maintain Trucking Operations safety, health, and compliance records and files to include vehicle accidents, incidents, injuries, spills, OSHA 300 Logs, DOT Accident Register, Hearing and Fit Testing Records, Roadside Inspection reports, etc.
- Ensure the company remains in compliance with all DPR, CERS, OSHA, EPA, FMCSA and DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations to include review of pending and upcoming changes.
- Design and deliver safety training programs specific to agriculture and manufacturing for employees and management, covering topics such as hazard identification, emergency response, and proper use of safety equipment.
- Implement and facilitate proactive and compliance safety training plans and content objectives.
- Organize and facilitate meetings that focus on specific safety, health, and compliance issues.
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures and serve as a technical safety advisor.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry best practices to ensure the organization's safety standards remain current.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting open communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish).
- Microsoft proficiency including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree or three years’ practical experience in safety-related field.

- Able to: travel by car or truck, visit multiple vineyard locations, inside winery facilities, and walk vineyards (hillside and flat); able to work in various weather conditions throughout the year; able to sit at and operate a computer for at least two-hour intervals, physically able to lift and carry 41 lbs. and work a flexible schedule (including early daytime, evening, weekends).
- California: Santa Barbara, Monterey, Sacramento, Solano, Napa, Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino Counties.
- Oregon: Polk and Yamhill Counties.
