JOB SUMMARY:

The Banquet Server is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a timely, courteous, efficient and accurate manner. Work well with co-workers as part of a team. Read and understand Banquet Event Orders and carry out the instructions given on the Banquet Event Orders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and serve meal accompaniments to banquet attendees.

• Perform side work.

• Open & pour bottled wine for guests along with other table beverages.

• Knowledge of current menu being served and ability to describe ingredients.

• Take note of special guest requests and/or allergies and act accordingly.

• Bus and set tables/stations, as needed.

• Keep various stations replenished and clean (i.e., deli, dessert, coffee, espresso)

• Help direct guests and answer questions about facility.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must have food and wine knowledge for pairing suggestions.

• Communicate with support crew and management.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

• One year minimum of customer service experience preferably within the Food & Beverage industry.

• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.

• Highly motivated and flexible, possessing the ability to take initiative.

• Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, nights, holidays and weekends

• Experience in a luxury world-class hotel or equivalent
