Civil Engineer

Foley Engineering provides a wide array of civil engineering consulting services including design and construction oversight on municipal and rural projects. These include subdivisions, commercial site designs, roadways, water and sewer distribution systems, storm water management, storm water quality treatment facilities, small wastewater treatment systems, and analysis and rehabilitation of aging or failing infrastructure.

Education & Job Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or similar area of study

· Knowledge of and familiarity with applying local, state and federal regulations to projects

· Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel

· Valid driver's license and good driving record

· Ability to work well with a team

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Civil Engineering experience in project management, planning and design-Preferred

· Experience in Montana- Preferred

· Experience representing Municipalities, Counties, or Districts – Preferred

· AutoCAD Civil3D skills- Preferred

Responsibilities & Duties

· Analyze drawings and maps to inform the direction of projects as well as the overall budget constraints

· Perform and adjust quantity calculations for practical and budgetary purposes

· Communicate with team members as well as customers and vendors to ensure maximum cohesion and fluidity on projects

· Preparation of engineering design reports and construction plans and specifications

· Inspect project sites to ensure they meet relevant codes and are in conformance with engineered plans and specifications

· Perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations in support of projects

· Check and verify engineering calculation briefs in support of ongoing projects

· Ensure that project tasks are performed correctly with appropriate QA/QC

· Perform engineering cost estimates

· Assure that technical documents (drawings, reports, etc.) are in accordance with company production and design standards

· Effectively communicate with project staff, client managers, and regulatory agency personnel
