Substitute Custodian
Location: North Brunswick, NJ 08902
Compensation: $27/h – 1099 Independent Contractor
We are seeking reliable Substitute Custodians to support the maintenance and cleanliness of our school facilities across the district. Custodians play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, moving equipment, and standing for extended periods
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Must pass required criminal history background check
Responsibilities:
Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general upkeep of school facilities
Set up and take down furniture or equipment as needed for events
Assist with snow removal, minor repairs, and other maintenance tasks as assigned
Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or incidents to school administration
Follow all safety procedures and district policies
