What are the responsibilities and job description for the English Language Arts Teacher (6-8th Grade) position at Focused Staffing?

Responsibilities:
- Execute rigorous, standards-aligned lesson plans with an end goal of ensuring scholars perform at or above grade level
- Analyze data frequently and collaboratively as a means of finetuning instruction to meet scholar needs
- Build positive relationships with scholars grounded in respect,responsibility, integrity, perseverance, empowerment, and enthusiasm
- Teach and maintain school-wide procedures and systems
- Participate in on-going professional learning and development through one-on-one weekly check-ins and staff professional development
- Communicate productively with scholars, families, and colleagues to ensure the best possible learning environment for scholars
- Take ownership of academic results and work to continuously improve them
- Actively participate in three-week summer professional development in preparation for the upcoming school year
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Structured English Immersion endorsement
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Previous experience teaching in urban schools preferred, but not required
- Spanish proficiency preferred, but not required
