FMI seeks a SolarWinds Administrator responsible for the administration, engineering, and lifecycle management of the SolarWinds monitoring platform supporting enterprise infrastructure environments. The role provides centralized monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility across enterprise servers, virtualization platforms, storage infrastructure, and hybrid cloud environments to ensure infrastructure availability, performance, and operational stability.
The position administers and maintains SolarWinds platform components, including the Orion Platform, Server & Application Monitor (SAM), Virtualization Manager (VMAN), and Log Analyzer, to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting across Windows server environments, virtual infrastructure, enterprise storage systems, and cloud-hosted workloads.
The Lead SolarWinds Administrator is responsible for installation, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of the SolarWinds platform, including Orion platform updates, module upgrades, hotfix installation, and configuration management. The role ensures the SolarWinds monitoring environment remains secure, stable, and compliant with enterprise standards.
The position designs and implements monitoring standards, alert frameworks, and operational dashboards that provide real-time visibility into infrastructure health. The role collaborates with infrastructure engineering teams, virtualization administrators, storage teams, and cloud operations personnel to ensure accurate monitoring coverage and operational insight.

SUMMARY /GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required Qualifications
Collaboration and Monitoring Standards
- Administer and maintain the SolarWinds Orion monitoring platform and associated modules.
Infrastructure Monitoring and Observability
- Configure monitoring capabilities using SolarWinds modules including Server & Application Monitor (SAM), Virtualization Manager (VMAN), and Log Analyzer.
- Monitor Windows server infrastructure, system services, and enterprise applications.
- Monitor VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization environments.
Alerting, Dashboarding, and Operational Visibility
- Design and maintain monitoring alert frameworks and threshold policies.
- Develop operational dashboards and monitoring visualizations to support infrastructure teams.
- Configure and tune monitoring alerts to support proactive infrastructure issue detection.
Incident Support and Operational Integration
- Integrate SolarWinds alerts and monitoring events with enterprise IT Service Management platforms such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.
- Enable automated incident generation and escalation workflows based on monitoring alerts.
Collaboration and Monitoring Standards
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineering teams, virtualization administrators, storage teams, and cloud operations personnel.
- Maintain enterprise monitoring standards and ensure accurate monitoring coverage.
- Support onboarding of new infrastructure components into the SolarWinds monitoring platform.
- Maintain documentation related to monitoring configuration, alert frameworks, and operational procedures.
Certifications (preferred)
- SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP)
- CompTIA Security
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or equivalent
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Education
Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Management and 4 years’ experience.
