We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager who is passionate about building efficient systems, improving financial performance, and creating a culture of accountability.
This is more than a billing position. The Revenue Cycle Manager will oversee the entire revenue cycle—from authorizations through collections—and play a key leadership role in helping the organization operate efficiently and sustainably.
Position Summary
The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing operations, authorizations, credentialing oversight, claims management, denials, accounts receivable, collections, reporting, and performance improvement.
The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, data-driven, and comfortable using KPIs to improve processes. This position works closely with executive leadership and clinical operations to ensure accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and continuous operational improvement.
Primary ResponsibilitiesRevenue Cycle Leadership
- Oversee the complete ABA revenue cycle.
- Supervise billing, authorization, and credentialing staff.
- Develop and maintain department SOPs.
- Ensure billing compliance and payer requirements are followed.
- Lead weekly department meetings and accountability check-ins.
Billing Operations
- Ensure timely claim submission.
- Monitor claim acceptance and rejection rates.
- Oversee payment posting.
- Manage denials and appeals.
- Reduce outstanding accounts receivable.
Authorizations & Credentialing
- Oversee authorization processes and renewal timelines.
- Monitor provider credentialing and recredentialing.
- Coordinate payer enrollment activities.
KPI & Performance Management
Develop and monitor department dashboards including:
- First-pass claim acceptance rate
- Denrollment? (Denial) rate
- Days in Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Collection rate
- Authorization utilization
- Unbilled visits
- Documentation completion
- Revenue by clinic
- Revenue by payer
- Revenue trends
- Lost revenue due to cancellations
Present weekly and monthly performance reports to executive leadership with recommendations for improvement.
Process Improvement
- Identify workflow inefficiencies.
- Develop scalable systems.
- Train and mentor department staff.
- Implement best practices in revenue cycle management.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of revenue cycle or medical billing leadership experience.
- Experience with ABA billing and payer requirements.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance and Medicaid billing.
- Experience managing denials, appeals, and accounts receivable.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Experience supervising employees.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
Preferred
- Multi-state ABA billing experience.
- Credentialing and authorization experience.
- Experience creating KPI dashboards and operational reports.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, the successful candidate will:
- Understand the complete FBS revenue cycle.
- Establish weekly KPI reporting.
- Implement consistent department workflows.
- Improve visibility into A/R, denials, and authorizations.
- Lead productive weekly accountability meetings.
- Build clear SOPs and standardized processes.
