What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Driver - 2nd & 3rd Shift position at Focus Workforce Management?
We are seeking a 2nd (2pm-10:30pm) & 3rd Shift (10pm-6:30am) skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move products and materials throughout the warehouse. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining an organized work environment. Weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environments
- Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
- Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
- Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
- Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
- Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
- Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
- Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures
- There may be other responsibilities depending on department.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Forklift Operator in a distribution center or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance is a plus.
- Understanding of OSHA safety regulations regarding material handling and equipment operation.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting and operate various types of material handling equipment safely.
