Summary
Working under the direction of the Program Loft Lead and the Program Director, this role focuses on engaging with youth, building positive relationships, and promoting daily programing, creating connections and wellbeing. The assistant is also responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date information/data MSC.
Job Description
Essential duties and responsibilities
Recovery Center Programming
- Complete daily opening tasks
- Complete new membership paperwork and Input into MSC as needed
- input all programs into MSC monthly refer to completed calendar
- Provide one on one support to participants at The Loft;
- Create a trauma informed safe space for participants;
- Provide appropriate referrals and resource connections to peers and volunteers;
- Develop and implement a plan to increase and maintain attendance in coordination with the Program Lead;
- Assist the Program Lead with programming ideas and facilitation;
- Participate in resource tabling at events to support Focus
- Help maintain inventory for programming supplies;
- Participate in the i am somebody podcast
- Attend conferences, trainings, and continuing education as required and approved;
- Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, and code of ethics for FOCUS and other appropriate governing bodies;
- Ensure the agency operates in a way that supports recovery, maintains a safe environment, and follows the principles of a Recovery-Oriented System of Care;
- Other duties as assigned.
Licenses and certifications
Valid Ohio Driver’s License (Must have reliable transportation)
Education and/or experience
Ohio Youth Peer Recovery Supporter Training or willingness to attend and complete training within one year of employment, as available. One (1) or more years of relevant program and/or peer support experience.
Other knowledge, skills and/or abilities
- Experience in group facilitation and program planning, coordination, and implementation;
- Knowledge (or willingness to learn) of community resources and the impact of mental health, substance use and trauma on the individual, family and community
- Ability to travel occasionally around the community;
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team, including effective communication (both written and verbally)’
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to interact appropriately with others including maintaining healthy boundaries.
