The Hospitality Assistant position exists to provide stewardship for all aspects of serving couples through food service.

This position is a temporary assignment designed to meet current ministry needs. The duration of the assignment may vary and could be short-term or long-term, depending on evolving business requirements.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities :

Prepares meals from predetermined menus for intensives, retreats, and special events

Serves, interacts, and is sensitive to the needs of the couples and guests

Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and dining area, daily Observes and follows all Health Department

Codes Attends and maintains Chemical Training

Other Duties / Responsibilities :

Performs other duties as required

Working Environment / Physical Requirements :

Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs

Must be able to push / pull up to 25lbs

Must be able to bend and reach above head

Requires repetitive tasks / motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity

Some exposure to gases, odors, fumes, and sharp utensils

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Pursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28 : 19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct () and Statement of Faith () ; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayer

Prays personally for Focus on the Family’s staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayer

Knowledge / Experience :

High school diploma or equivalent

1-3 years of experience in food service preparation

Must have Serve Safe Certification

Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents / Gifts :

Strong customer service and people skills

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions

Flexible in adjusting priorities

Ability to work with various food preparation machines and equipment, sharp knives, and various chemicals

Salary Range : $14.00- $15.82\Hr.
