Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities across designated areas, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Implement and monitor sanitation procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Train and mentor janitorial staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and use of cleaning equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure cleanliness, safety, and quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Oversee floor care operations including stripping, waxing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain optimal appearance.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and timely replenishment.
- Develop work schedules for custodial staff to optimize coverage while maintaining efficiency.
- Address any operational issues promptly, escalating concerns as needed to management.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, and safety compliance documentation.
- Proven experience in environmental services, janitorial work, or custodial roles within hospital or commercial settings.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and sanitation practices.
- Experience with floor care techniques such as stripping, waxing, polishing, and carpet extraction.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, sanitation procedures, and environmental health standards.
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and promote a culture of safety and excellence.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inspection and recordkeeping tasks.
- Prior supervisory or management experience in hospital or healthcare environments is highly desirable.
