Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, mature, and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing high-quality eye care services to patients. You will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic, and enhancing the patient experience through excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
  • Conduct preliminary tests including basic charting, visual acuity, and preliminary eye health screening.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health records.
  • Provide education and instruction to patients regarding contact lens fitting and care, as well as eyeglass options.
  • Perform aseptic techniques to ensure a clean and safe environment for all procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient operations and patient flow.
  • Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in identifying potential eye health issues.
  • Customer focused can-do attitude.
  • Greeting patients
  • Receiving payments from patients.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a clinical or retail environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of retail sales processes and customer service best practices.
  • Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
  • Understanding of anatomy and physiology related to eye care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency using electronic health record systems is advantageous.
  • Aseptic technique knowledge is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
