Focus Bryn Mawr is not a corporate fitness chain.
We are an independent, family-built yoga and Pilates studio rooted in community, mindfulness, movement, and real human connection linked to this corner of the Main Line for over 10 years.
We serve everyone from college students to seniors, athletes to beginners, busy parents to lifelong seekers. We are building something deeply personal and community-driven in the middle of an increasingly corporate wellness world.
We are looking for a General Manager who understands that this role is about much more than operations.
This person helps hold the culture of the studio .
You are the bridge between ownership, teachers, desk staff, and members. You set the tone. You solve problems. You help people feel seen. You care deeply about hospitality, organization, communication, and community.
Most importantly: you genuinely love people.
Position Overview
The General Manager oversees the daily operations, staff coordination, member experience, and overall flow of the studio across all programs and rooms, including:
- Hot Yoga
- Hot Mat Pilates
- Reformer Pilates
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone highly organized, energetic, emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and capable of managing both people and systems in a fast-moving wellness environment.
Compensation
Base Compensation
- $3,500/$4000 month salary
Additional Compensation
- Senior teacher pay for classes taught
- Performance bonuses based on:
- Studio revenue growth
- Membership growth and retention
- Class fill rates
- Team stability and retention
- Operational excellence
Core Responsibilities
Studio Operations
- Daily Operations of MindBody with reports to owners weekly.
- Oversee daily operations across all studio rooms
- Manage teacher schedules and staffing coverage
- Coordinate substitutes and schedule changes
- Maintain consistency and excellence in client experience
- Ensure studio cleanliness, organization, and energy
- Troubleshoot operational issues quickly and calmly
Team Leadership
- Oversee teachers and front desk staff
- Act as liaison between ownership and team
- Help maintain positive culture and communication
- Support onboarding and training of new staff
- Assist ownership with accountability and standards
Front Desk Client Experience
You will manage your own staff of front desk humans. At the same time you are that person, the boss, the “may I talk to the manager” mananger.
- Serve as a key point of contact for members
- Support membership and package sales
- Manage check-ins, waitlists, and client flow
- Handle member questions, issues, and account troubleshooting
- Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all
Systems Technology
- Manage and maintain the Mindbody platform
- Handle autopays, failed payments, account syncing, and reporting
- Coordinate teacher payments and payment tracking
- Utilize Attentive and other communication platforms
- Maintain accuracy of memberships, packages, schedules, and purchases
- Market Market Market!
HUGE BONUS:
Experience and mastery with Mindbody software is highly preferred. Expierence and joy with capturing content through film, video, photos, a bonus. Social Media sucks and we hate it but we need someone who doesn’t’ think it sucks and odesn’t hate it.
Marketing Community Building
- Assist with Instagram posting and content creation
- Capture studio photos and videos
- Help promote events, trainings, workshops, and memberships
- Participate in grassroots/community marketing
- Help expand our reach into local colleges and neighborhoods
