Team Lead - Rigid Assembly (2nd Shift)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Team Leader is responsible to maintain the production schedule in the assigned section in a safe and timely manner. The Team Leader is responsible for their assigned area and all personnel and equipment associated in this area.  This person effectively guides the workforce, interpreting section policies and procedures and utilizes company computer software and approved drawings to directs the activities and personnel within their area of production responsibility.

The Team Leader is a member of the Manufacturing Operations team and collaborates with the other functional teams (Sales Operations, Engineering, Finance, Materials & HR) on executing company strategies, meeting budgets and the work unit planned processes.  They are expected to support design and development and to implement processes and metrics in all areas of materials and purchasing including but not limited to: lean, 6S, workplace safety, onboarding and training. In addition, this person must demonstrate hands-on leadership in unison with the Director of Manufacturing Operations on implementing strong cultural beliefs and values throughout the organization. 
 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•          Provides daily direction and leadership to the section team members
•          Understands and adheres to FMH Conveyors Company handbook
•          Understands and adheres to section policies and procedures
•          Must have the ability to perform activities utilizing all machinery and equipment in the assigned section
•          Promotes continual improvement within the department and the company
•          Must have the ability to examine items produced to determine if items meet specifications
•          Follows documented manufacturing/assembly processes using the operations procedures
•          Recommends measures to improve section production methods and effectiveness of section
•          Coordinates daily/weekly/monthly provided schedule to meet delivery demands
•          Monitors the quality, quantity, and efficiency of products produced
•          Maintains working collaborative relationships with the team members and is focused on producing excellent products safely and on time
•          Works with each associate in the section to provide the opportunity for each to be cross-trained and to meet other training opportunities
•          Ensures that daily goals are met and sustained daily/weekly/monthly
•          Observes safety and security procedures; Uses equipment and materials properly; Reports potentially unsafe conditions
