What are the responsibilities and job description for the International Tax Lead position at FMC Corporation?
FMC Corporation has an opening for an International Tax Senior/Lead. The International Tax Senior/Lead will join FMC’s Global Tax Accounting Center of Excellence and work on all aspects of international tax planning & reporting. Reporting to the international tax manager, primarily responsibilities are to support the international tax processes for tax provision and reporting. This will require close interaction & alignment with FMC’s global transfer pricing and tax accounting teams. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with partnering & leading cross-functional teams within business operations & corporate functions.
Responsibilities:
International Tax
- Support US international tax compliance for US tax reporting, including oversight of the process and review of international Forms such as 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8991, 8992 and 8993, and reporting statements as required.
- Prepare quarterly schedules for international aspects of the tax provision including GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, 163(j), and FTC utilization and other tax attributes impacted by tax planning transactions.
- Support monitoring of OECD’s Pillar I and Pillar II and its impacts on U.S. international tax
- Support oversight of hold co structure, APB 23, foreign repatriation planning
- Support monitoring of FMC’s US international tax positions
- Prepare tax modeling concerning U.S. international tax matters (GILTI, FDII, FTC, BEAT, 163(j), etc.)
- Remain current on US international tax legislation, lead assessment of the impacts to FMC
- Tax process optimization, including development and implementation of process changes and/or enhancement of existing processes to improve the tax function
- Participate in research and preparation of memorandums of various international tax issues to support U.S. tax filing positions.
- Participate in the development of and management of step plans relating to various special projects and international tax transactions.
- Assist with work with various outside tax advisers and law firms on special projects and international tax transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, or liquidations.
- Assist in tracking U.S. tax attributes to assist in U.S. tax reporting and international tax planning including earnings and profit pools, tax pools, tax basis in corporate and partnership structures, and foreign tax credits.
- Support international audit for IRS exams and provide audit support for foreign tax audits.
- If any gaps in the responsibilities above, responsible to complete trainings and work towards mastering skill gaps.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or law with CPA or MST strongly preferred.
- 3 years international tax experience in Big 4 or comparable tax experience in a large multinational corporation.
- Strong prior knowledge or commitment to gain strong knowledge of US international tax rules, including GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, FTCs.
- Strong research, analytical and documentation skills.
- Strong Excel skills as well as proficiency with Word and Power Point.
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to apply and adapt gained experiences/knowledge to new situations.
- Willingness to build on your knowledge base and learn new things in the tax (and tax related) area is essential for success in this position.
