- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all necessary supplies are ready for procedures across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Support physicians during examinations, minor procedures, and treatments such as medication administration and X-ray imaging.
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, confirming referrals, and coordinating follow-up care.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and respond promptly to emergency situations within hospital or clinic environments.
- Document clinical notes with precision, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping.
- Support medical administrative tasks such as answering patient inquiries, managing documentation related to hospital medicine, urgent care, dermatology, geriatrics, or internal medicine specialties. Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or urgent care centers; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology to assist with patient care effectively.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding processes to ensure precise documentation.
- Ability to perform clinical skills including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic physiology assessments.
- Prior hospital experience with inpatient settings or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) is advantageous; OR experience in emergency medicine or medical-surgical units is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or radiology support are a plus.
