Overview
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance, and field service operations. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC equipment across various property types. The successful technician will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design specifications
- Perform equipment repairs such as replacing compressors, motors, belts, filters, and other components
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and welding equipment for repairs when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities and parts used
- Assist with plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems or property maintenance needs
- Operate specialized equipment for ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R systems as required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations including proper handling of refrigerants and ammonia systems
- Respond promptly to service calls in the field to resolve urgent issues efficiently
- Support installation projects involving HVAC system upgrades or new construction work
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC, refrigeration, or property maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans
- Skilled in plumbing, appliance repair, welding, and equipment repair techniques
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems and boiler operation is preferred
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively
- Construction background or experience working with field service teams is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Valid driver's license for travel between job sites
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units and mechanical components
- Experience with property maintenance tasks related to heating and cooling systems
