Monday - Friday: 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM

SUMMARY

Responsible to keep Brown’s James Street warehouse, office, rest rooms, lunchroom, property and pit area in a clean and orderly condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Sweeps, mops, scrubs, dusts, and vacuums warehouse, lunchroom, and office space.

· Cleans bathrooms daily and keeps them stocked.

· Manages cleaning supplies.

· Cleans behind bumpers in the warehouse.

· Maintains a clean dock area.

· Maintains a clean parking lot.

· Washes windows.

· Cleans sprinkler pipes as required.

· Empties trash containers, collects trash / cardboard and loads it on straight truck.

· Manages trash, cardboard and shrink-wrap.

· Assists in snow and ice removal around building and on parking lots.

· Cuts grass and trims weeds around facility.

· Must perform all duties in SSOP’s and SQF standards.

· Required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education - High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior successful experience as custodian is preferred.

Language Skills – The ability to read, write and comprehend the English language. Must be able to comprehend simple instructions and follow directions, both verbal and written.

Math Skills - Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands - Must be met by an employee to successfully perform job.

• Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Frequent need to talk or hear. Occasional need to sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

· The employee must lift and/or move up to 60 pounds up to 50% of shift.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet conditions, can be exposed to hot and humid or cold conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
