Position Summary
Our part 142 courseware team lead is responsible for end-to-end ownership of FAA compliance, approved training programs, and courseware development. This role serves as the primary liaison with the FAA and ensures all training programs remain compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with regulatory and operational standards.
This position is critical to maintaining our Part 142 certification while enabling scalable growth of training programs and simulator capacity.
Not only will you be leading a small team, but you will also be rolling up your sleeves and producing a lot of electronic material.
Key Responsibilities
FAA compliance and courseware for Part 142 training programs.
- FAA Compliance & Liaison
- Maintain Training Specifications (TSpecs) and approved program documentation
- Courseware & Curriculum Oversight
- Develop, revise, and maintain FAA-approved curricula and syllabi
- Support new program development, approvals, and amendments
- Coordinate with instructors, evaluators, and operations teams
- Oversee all courseware including:
- Ensuring alignment between courseware, checking standards, and training objectives
- Standardize curriculum across programs while supporting expansion
- Interpret and implement regulatory requirements and changes
- Instructor guides
- CBT/digital training content
- Audit & Surveillance Readiness
- Lead internal audits and continuous courseware reviews
- Prepare for and manage FAA courseware inspections and surveillance events
Qualifications Required
- 3 years of experience in Part 142, 141, 135, or 121 training center experience
- Direct experience with FAA-approved training programs and curriculum
- Strong working knowledge of Part 142 regulations and TSpecs
- Experience interfacing with FAA inspectors
- Experience managing audits, inspections, or certification processes
- Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office suite and various Adobe products
- Strong working knowledge of various ai platforms
Preferred
- Experience building or revising FAA-approved courseware
- Familiarity with simulator-based training environments
- Experience supporting new program approvals or training center expansion
