About The Role:
You'll work with a team of engineers from Nvidia, NASA JPL, and US Navy NAVAIR to head supply chain procurement and outbound production fulfillment for our American-made drone product. Your area of ownership includes sourcing all inbound components with our suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring successful outbound logistics of manufactured drones. We’re looking for a candidate excited about enabling the manufacturing of AI-powered drones and who constantly strives to provide the parts needed to keep up with growing production demand. You will also actively seek to ensure the success of our drone manufacturing through on-time delivery, improving upon manufacturing quality and methods with suppliers, and driving down the cost per part. Prior supply chain management experience is highly desirable. This role may require short-term travel to partnered vendors to ensure the quality and maintain vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of all mechanical, electronic, and PCB part sourcing to ensure all components are cost-efficient, high-quality, and sourced in line with our production schedule.
- Manage supplier relationships, including RFIs and RFQs, and conduct supplier management from negotiating to finalizing supplier contracts.
- Create cost models and data analytics to ensure sustainable long-term sourcing strategies.
- Open communication with design engineers and manufacturing engineers to ensure sourced parts align with product technical capabilities in both R&D and scaled production.
- Instill regular supplier business evaluation to ensure improvements in cost efficiency, exceptional quality, and on-time delivery.
- Have consistent communication with both financial and engineering teams, resulting in favorable and enduring supplier relationships.
- Maintain updated inventory tracking and forecasting processes.
- Coordinate finished product logistics and successful fulfillment.
Core Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and/or Supply Chain Management.
- 3 years of supply chain experience in a rapid, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to oversee vendor relationships, build cost models, and drive successful contract negotiations.
- Strong analytical capability using data and metrics to guide sound business decisions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as wiring diagrams and assembly instructions.
- Quickly grasps the technical requirements of the product, which leads to optimizing purchasing and product sourcing selections.
