Fly The Whale is seeking an experienced Part 135 Chief Pilot to lead our expanding fleet. This is a hybrid position with regular travel and includes flying duties on a rotation as PIC in a C208 Land or Amphibian aircraft
Key Responsibilities
Serve as Chief Pilot
Lead and mentor a team of professional pilots across a geographically spread out operation.
Ensure regulatory compliance, standardization, and operational excellence.
Conduct line checks, pilot evaluations, and participate in training oversight.
Fly scheduled service as a PIC in the C208 Land or Amphibian .
Work closely with Operations and Safety to uphold SMS and high safety standards.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage, guide, and mentor flight crews
- Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations and compliance requirements
- Extensive flight experience, holding necessary licenses and certifications including Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
- 3 years PIC experience under Part 135 or 121.
- Ability to qualify in the C208 (Single Engine Seaplane rating preferred).
- Experience in crew scheduling and operational planning
- Ability to coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve technical issues promptly
- Proficiency in using aviation software and tools for scheduling and operational management
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and operational excellence
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautics, or a related field is advantageous
- Previous experience in a leadership or management position within aviation is preferred
