Furniture Sales Consultant — Salary, No Commission

We pay a guaranteed salary — $60,000 to $75,000 to start, depending on experience — because we think good advice shouldn't depend on what's in it for the salesperson.
Fly By Night Furniture has been independent, family-owned and a little different since 1988. Our Maynard showroom is colorful, friendly and non-corporate. We're looking for someone who genuinely likes people, cares about design, and wants to learn.
What the job actually is
Help customers find furniture and mattresses that fit their homes, their lives, and that they'll be happy with for years.
Learn about construction, materials, fabrics, leathers, wood species, finishes, and custom options. Ask good questions. Listen carefully. Give people room to think.
Our customers often visit two or three times before deciding. That's fine with us. There's no pressure to close.
What we're looking for
- Genuine interest in furniture, interiors, design, craft, or textiles
- Good with people — no need to be the loudest person in the room
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable tracking custom orders
- Comfortable working weekends — your schedule includes two consecutive weekdays off
- Experience in furniture, interior design, kitchen & bath, lighting, flooring, visual merchandising, specialty retail, or hospitality is a plus — but not required. We'll teach you the furniture.
