The Role
The Electrical Engineer Manager will lead the development of next-generation lithium-ion battery electronics and Battery Management Systems (BMS) that power the electrification of industrial equipment. The Electrical Engineer Manager is a technical leader who can work closely with customers, product management, and internal engineering teams to define system requirements and translate them into robust electrical architectures and product solutions. The Electrical Engineer Manager will guide the design and development of advanced battery electronics platforms and telemetry systems used across Flux Power products. Also, has a strong electrical engineering expertise with leadership and system architecture capabilities. This role is a hands-on leadership role requiring the leader to evaluate emerging semiconductor technologies, collaborate with IC vendors and third-party development partners, and guide the engineering team in delivering scalable, reliable battery electronics solutions deployed in demanding industrial environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and battery electronics architectures for lithium-ion battery platforms.
- Work with customers, product management, and engineering teams to define system requirements and electrical specifications.
- Translate product requirements into scalable electrical designs and system architectures.
- Architect battery electronics platforms including monitoring systems, safety circuits, and communication interfaces.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging semiconductor technologies and battery monitoring IC solutions.
- Work with IC vendors and third-party technology partners to evaluate and implement novel solutions.
- Lead the design, validation, and productization of battery electronics from concept through production.
- Oversee electrical testing strategies and system-level verification.
- Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, and scalable.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to electrical engineering team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 8 years of experience in electrical engineering or electronic system design
- Experience in designing electronic hardware systems or power electronics
- Experience leading engineering projects or technical development teams
- Competence in the use of electrical engineering development tools such as Altium
- Strong troubleshooting and system-level critical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external partners
- Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) or lithium-ion battery systems
- Experience with power electronics or high-current electrical systems
- Experience with cellular and GNSS radio solutions
- Experience defining system architecture and product requirements
- Experience working with semiconductor vendors or technology partners
- Experience leading hardware development from concept through production
- Experience in EV, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or energy storage industries
