SUMMARY: Serves as the School Testing Coordinator by collaboratively working with school administrators, teachers, students, and division staff to plan, organize, administer, and support all local and state assessments. Ensures testing procedures are implemented with fidelity, maintains compliance with division and state testing requirements, provides training and support to staff, and promotes a secure, efficient, and student-centered testing environment. Supports the effective use of assessment platforms, data systems, and instructional technologies to enhance student achievement and school improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be

- Coordinates and oversees all local, state, and division testing programs to ensure accurate, secure, and timely administration.
- Develops and manages schoolwide testing schedules, testing locations, staffing assignments, and assessment logistics.
- Collaborates with school administrators, counselors, teachers, special education staff, and division personnel to support assessment implementation and student success.
- Serves as the primary contact for all assessment-related communication, procedures, and testing documentation.
- Trains and supports teachers, test examiners, proctors, and staff on state and division testing procedures, security protocols, accommodations, and testing platforms.
- Ensures compliance with all division, state, and federal testing regulations, policies, and security requirements.
- Coordinates and monitors testing accommodations for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Learner services in collaboration with appropriate staff members.
- Maintains secure inventory, distribution, collection, and return of testing materials and devices.
- Oversees preparation and readiness of assessment technology, including online testing platforms, student devices, and related software systems.
- Troubleshoots testing and technology issues during assessment administration and collaborates with technology staff to resolve concerns efficiently.
- Coordinates make-up testing sessions and maintains accurate testing records and documentation.
- Investigates, documents, and reports testing irregularities or incidents in accordance with division and state guidelines.
- Analyzes and organizes assessment data and reports to support instructional planning, school improvement efforts, and student achievement initiatives.
- Provides assessment reports, updates, and testing-related data to school and division leadership as requested.
- Supports staff with the use of assessment platforms, instructional technologies, and data systems related to student learning and achievement.
- Participates in professional development and training related to assessment, accountability, instructional technology, and data management systems.
- Assists with school communication related to testing information for students, families, and staff.
- Maintains confidentiality of student information, assessment materials, and testing records.
- Complies with school board policies, administrative regulations, and applicable state and federal requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Holds or is eligible for a valid Virginia professional teaching license.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required; advanced coursework or training in assessment, educational leadership, instructional technology, data analysis, or related fields preferred.
- Previous successful classroom teaching experience required.
- Experience coordinating, administering, or supporting state and local assessments preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state testing procedures, assessment security requirements, and student testing accommodations preferred.
- Experience using instructional technology, student information systems, assessment platforms, and data management tools.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, counselors, students, families, and division staff.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience providing professional development or staff training preferred.
- Experience supporting online testing environments, student devices, and troubleshooting technology issues preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond
to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid certification to meet State requirements with specific endorsement in the area to which
assigned. Applicants who have had teaching experience must have an acceptable rating for
such teaching.
