JOB SUMMARY The Principal Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance and set up of all compliance systems and any building facilities’ maintenance, upgrades, and new construction projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures maintenance, improvements, and routine inspections of all compliance systems including Fire Suppression, Emergency Lighting, Pest Control, Security Equipment, Safety Showers/Eyewash Stations for all building facilities Coordinates all building facilities’ maintenance, upgrades, and new construction projects including collecting contractor quotes, pricing negotiations, contacting and coordinating with necessary utilities, and contractor management throughout lifecycle of projects Collects and analyzes maintenance data for root cause and recommendation on prevention or continuous improvement Manages and maintains all facilities’ Waste Management, HVAC, and grounds maintenance Manages and maintains all facilities’ Janitorial, Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Supplies, Critical Spare Parts, and Consumables Ensures compliance with all safety policies, regulations, and work instructions Oversees and helps facilitate preventive maintenance program to meet ISO requirements and ensure long term reliability of plant equipment Collects and analyzes maintenance data for recommendations on prevention or continuous improvement Troubleshoots plant and building equipment to accomplish repairs or modifications on a timely basis including off shifts and weekends, if critical Maintains company vehicles to include transporting them to and from routine and non-routine maintenance at appropriate vendor location Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies for maintenance Communicates with production supervision as appropriate regarding current projects, maintenance, and facilities work Advises management on equipment replacement needs and general building issues Ensures all documentation is accurate and kept up to date Partners with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other support leadership as required for task or project completion Participates as a member of the plant safety committee Practices good housekeeping and leads organization and 5s events Supports project teams and participate as an active project team member as required Supports internal and external quality audits Assists with and/or coordinates custodial work as required Performs other duties as required EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Associates Degree or Degree from Technical School is preferred 5 years’ experience in maintenance and equipment troubleshooting required Controlled Environment experience preferred A valid driver’s license is required SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to work in a team Ability to lead and train others Strong written and communication skills Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point) Ability to schedule and prioritize according to the needs of the business Knowledge of Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical circuitry and troubleshooting including PLC controllers, boilers, and various facilities’ equipment Ability to support weekend or shutdown scheduled facilities events Safe and proficient use of Forklifts and or Material lifts Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting maintenance of plant equipment, preferred WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
