The Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for executing procurement activities for materials and equipment in support of complex projects from pre-award through closeout.

This role will be part of Fluor's Energy Solutions Business Line. The Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for executing procurement activities for materials and equipment in support of complex projects from pre-award through closeout.
- Prepare bid packages, manage bidder communications and clarification meetings and administer quotation timelines with supervision
- Conduct commercial bid evaluations evaluating pricing, terms, delivery and compliance with supervision
- Monitor and report purchasing discipline documents from engineering pre-commitment through to purchase order issuance
- Validate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Perform purchase order close-out activities in accordance with project procedures
- Perform self-audit of purchasing files and procedure compliance
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and other project stakeholders
- Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
- May need to travel to attend to business related matters
- Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
- Other duties as assigned
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in Business or Supply Chain and no required previous work experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)
- Experience should be primarily in the area of material management
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs
