This role will be part of Fluor's Energy Solutions Business Line. Position Summary: The Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for executing procurement activities for materials and equipment in support of complex projects from pre-award through closeout. • Execute purchasing activities for engineered equipment and bulk materials in accordance with project requirements and material management plans • Prepare bid packages, manage bidder communications and clarification meetings and administer quotation timelines • Conduct commercial bid evaluations evaluating pricing, terms, delivery, compliance and risk • Issue purchase orders and manage them through the full lifecycle, including change orders, price adjustments and supplier exceptions • Effectively negotiate and recommend resolution to terms and conditions exceptions • Negotiated and resolution final resolution to any claim related items regarding material • Validate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Basic Job Requirements • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Preferred Qualifications • Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak) • Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s) • Experience should be primarily in the area of material management • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Excellent computer literacy and skills • Good leadership and decision-making skills We are an equal opportunity employer. Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role. To be Considered Candidates: Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Salary Range: $83,000.00 - $154,000.00
