Job Description
The Paymaster is responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll-related activities for site personnel. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employee timekeeping, payroll documentation, and pay inquiries, ensuring compliance with Fluor procedures, project requirements, and applicable labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and process employee timecards for payroll accuracy and compliance
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with project and company requirements
- Coordinate with site supervision, HR, and Payroll to resolve timekeeping and pay discrepancies
- Communicate payroll schedules, deductions, and corrections to employees as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
- Support audits and reporting related to payroll and labor costs
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information at all times
Basic Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll or timekeeping experience, preferably in construction or industrial projects
- Working knowledge of payroll systems and timekeeping processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on large EPC or construction projects
- Familiarity with Fluor systems and processes
- Knowledge of California labor laws and prevailing wage requirements
