Job Summary: The Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering will lead a team responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards across hardware, software, and system level products. This role combines expertise in new product development (NPI) and sustaining engineering to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues, including root cause analysis of field failures. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of electromechanical systems and the interaction of hardware and embedded software, excellent problem solving skills, and the ability to effectively leverage data to identify and drive continual improvements effectively leveraging appropriate Fortive Business System (FBS) tools that positively impact Fluke's bottom line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Quality Assurance Engineering team focused on hardware, software, and system level quality.
  • Define and establish the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual priorities for the team to ensure task alignment and completion with business level goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute quality assurance strategies for new product introductions (NPI) and sustaining operations.
  • Investigate and determine root causes of field failures, working closely with Engineering, Production Operations, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Service teams.
  • Define and implement effective corrective actions that effectively prevent the recurrence of each identified root cause to address systemic quality issues.
  • Collaborate with Engineering during product design and development to ensure that designs meet required product reliability, warranty, manufacturability, serviceability, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Leads design and process reviews with a quality driven preventive systems view to identify and prevent issues before they occur.
  • Define and implement processes and supporting business system tool requirements to ensure complete, accurate, and coded product data; leverage this data for establishing and monitoring leading and lagging quality metrics to identify issues and drive measurable, sustained improvement.
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen events to drive continual improvement initiatives that result in measurable positive business impact.
  • Engage with and support Supplier Quality Engineering to ensure component and sub-system compliance with specifications.
  • Create and maintain lean documentation for quality engineering processes, failure investigations, stop ships, and continual improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive product lifecycle quality initiatives, from concept through end of life.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • 7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, including hardware and software, and system level products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and effective use of quality tools and methodologies for DFMEA, PFMEA, problem solving (8D, Ishikawa), lean and six sigma methodologies.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to hardware / embedded software products.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary product environments (hardware, software, embedded systems), including in manufacturing sustaining engineering and field failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 81,200.00 - 150,800.00
