Responsibilities
- Testing mammographic, radiographic, ultrasound, and other diagnostic medical equipment.
- Provide radiation shielding surveys to estimate lead thickness
- Conduct evaluations of lead content in personnel protective equipment (lead aprons) for medical staff
- Provide radiation safety consulting services. Including performing quarterly audits and attending radiation safety committee meetings.
- Travel independently between client sites to provide on-site support and address any radiation-related questions or concerns from customers.
- Assist with regulatory compliance, and coordination with radiation safety teams and radiology directors.
- Qualify for MQSA physics testing within 3 months of hire
- Operating within a team of other physicists to address the medical health physics needs of several healthcare sites.
- Master’s degree or higher in Imaging, Medical, or Health Physics or any equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- On a pathway to obtain ABR, ABSNM, ABMP, or CHP certifications.
- At least 2 years of experience testing diagnostic imaging equipment.
