About Fluidstack

At Fluidstack, we build the compute, data centers, and power that will fuel artificial superintelligence. We work with Anthropic, Google, Meta, AMI Labs, and Black Forest Labs to deploy gigawatts of compute at industry defining speeds. We are investing tens of billions of dollars in US infrastructure. In 2026, we will deploy 1GW. In 2027, 10GW.

Our team is small, fast, and obsessed with quality. We own outcomes end-to-end, challenge assumptions, and treat our customers' problems as our own. No task is beneath anyone here.

There are a few thousand people who will shape the trajectory of superinteligence. Come and be one of them.

About The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer at Fluidstack, you will play a pivotal role in architecting the next generation of AI-optimized infrastructure as we scale to deliver multiple gigawatts of facilities. This is a high-impact engineering position focused on owning mechanical systems end-to-end, from early concept and analytical modeling through final build and deployment.

You will lead the development of modular template designs and innovative supply-chain-aware solutions that enable rapid global deployment. Acting as the technical bridge between internal strategy and external execution, you will manage specialized partners and consultants to ensure designs integrate seamlessly with Fluidstack’s high-density cooling and power requirements. This role is designed for a problem-solver who thrives in complex environments and wants full ownership of the mechanical lifecycle for gigawatt-scale data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of mechanical systems for AI-optimized, high-density data centers.
  • Develop and maintain modular mechanical templates to support rapid, repeatable global deployment.
  • Serve as the technical interface between internal teams and external consultants, ensuring alignment with Fluidstack requirements.
  • Ensure mechanical designs integrate seamlessly with high-density cooling and power architectures.
  • Own mechanical systems from initial concept and analytical modeling through final build and execution.
  • Apply strong analytical judgment through CFD modeling and capacity planning to inform design decisions.
  • Hold external partners accountable for technical excellence, while remaining adaptable as project needs evolve.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–8 years of experience designing large-scale industrial or mission-critical facilities, specifically data centers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-density cooling systems, including liquid-to-chip and immersion cooling.
  • Proficiency in Revit / BIM for template creation and design development.
  • Strong analytical skills, including CFD modeling and capacity planning.
  • Proven ability to operate with extreme ownership and manage complex external relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package (salary equity).
  • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
