Fluidra’s looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
This role ensures that all activities in his/her production area are in order so that efficient production can take place daily. The candidate must effectively manage the resources in the department and aid. Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes and supports the engineering function by analyzing designs for manufacturing and assembly. Performs cost estimating, prepares bill of materials and plans and justifies capital equipment. Additionally, you will:
- Lead the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Serve as the technical lead for manufacturing engineering initiatives within the production facility.
- Identify, justify, manage, and implement capital equipment projects, including ROI analysis and project execution.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
- Analyze product designs and manufacturing requirements to optimize manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and product quality.
- Create and modify CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings as required to support production and product improvements.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to manufacturing and quality issues.
- Partner with Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve operational performance.
- Evaluate manufacturing capacity, workflow, labor utilization, and facility layout to maximize efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to manufacturing personnel and less-experienced engineers.
- Support new product introduction activities, process validations, and production readiness efforts.
- Work directly with suppliers and vendors to develop specifications, evaluate equipment, and ensure successful implementation of manufacturing solutions.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
- Analyze manufacturing metrics and recommend improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
WHAT WE SEEK
- Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing process improvement initiatives and capital equipment projects.
- Strong proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation control.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to analyze complex manufacturing challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the manufacturing organization.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
