Purchasing & Supply Management
- Issue purchase orders and manage communication with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and changes.
- Work closely with planning and production teams to expedite materials as required to support manufacturing schedules.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Track and manage return material authorizations (RMAs) and vendor credits.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and data integrity in ERP systems.
- Oversee all receiving, put-away, storage, and material movement within the facility.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring material availability while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Optimize material placement and flow to support production and shipping efficiency.
- Monitor and report key inventory KPIs, including accuracy, space utilization, and line downtime related to material availability.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and 5S principles to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and safety.
- Manage scrap and obsolete inventory disposition.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely transactions in ERP/WMS systems to sustain >99% inventory accuracy.
- Supervise and train materials handling staff as needed, establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and standard work.
- Maintain a safe and organized materials area; promote proactive safety behaviors.
- Partner with production, logistics, and quality teams to resolve material issues and streamline processes.
- Develop and execute corrective actions for process deviations or recurring supply issues.
- Regularly report operational performance metrics to site and corporate leadership.
- Support audit readiness and adherence to company policies and inventory control procedures.
WHAT WE SEEK
- 3 years in purchasing, materials, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
- 1 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- ERP/MRP system experience required (Navision, Oracle, or similar).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of warehouse management, cycle counting, and inventory control principles.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a forklift (certification preferred).
- Proven ability to lead by example, foster teamwork, and maintain a high standard of accountability.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field. High school diploma or equivalent required
