Material Handler
Job Location: Salt Lake City

JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting production operations by accurately picking, transporting, and delivering raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility. This position ensures production lines remain supplied with the materials needed to meet production schedules while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pick and deliver raw materials, components, and supplies to production lines according to production requirements.
Operate stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Utilize handheld scanners and inventory systems to complete material transactions accurately.
Stage materials and replenish production lines to minimize downtime and support production goals.
Verify material quantities, part numbers, and locations when picking and delivering materials.
Properly palletize, wrap, label, and prepare materials and finished goods for storage or shipment.
Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility as required.
Maintain inventory accuracy by following established material handling and inventory control procedures.
Communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, quality concerns, and production needs to Leads and Supervisors.
Perform daily housekeeping activities and maintain work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
Report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, and quality issues to leadership promptly.
Obtain and maintain certification on forklifts and other powered industrial equipment as required.
Support production, warehouse, and receiving operations as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Materials Supervisor.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, and on-time material delivery.
Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as directed.
Cross-train in other materials and warehouse functions to support operational needs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and departmental objectives.
Work collaboratively with Production Leads, Assemblers, Receiving, Shipping, and other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
Basic computer and handheld scanner experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
