JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Intern performs a variety of design/drafting activities group including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, establishing guidelines and procedures for CAD data management, and managing workload distribution within the department. Other duties to be performed as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design/Drafting
- Assist in CAD database set-up and migration to Solidworks, PDM, etc.
- Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings and more complex drawings.
- Review drawings, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation when design service is requested by the Application Engineer or Product Manager.
- Review and modify information with supervision by the Product Managers and or Engineering team.
- Make data available to Application Engineers and Product Managers.
- Understand filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up to date revised drawings.
Professional duties
- Attend regular development meetings.
- Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
- Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.
- Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs.
- Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies.

Requirements
- Student currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Ability to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
