Duties
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling to meet client specifications and breed standards
- Handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process
- Utilize animal restraint techniques effectively to facilitate safe grooming sessions
- Recognize signs of health issues or distress in animals and communicate concerns to veterinary staff or pet owners
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming area and properly sanitize tools and equipment after each use
- Assist with pet sitting or kennel duties as needed to support overall animal care operations
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions
- Be able to answer phone, help with scheduling clients etc.
Skills
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs, cats, and other small pets safely and compassionately
- Experience with pet grooming techniques including bathing, trimming, dematting, and styling
- Knowledge of dog training principles to help manage challenging behaviors during grooming sessions
- Veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant background is a plus for understanding animal health signals
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods and pet care best practices
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as large dogs or equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
