IT Specialist
Reports to:
VP of Technology and Continuous Improvement
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing hardware & software components of the organization's computers. They also support these systems through remote access or site visits as needed by management teams within Floyd’s.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and share ideas with your supervisor
Education and Experience
- Experience as IT Specialist or recently certified (IE: CompTIA)
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication ability
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Certification as IT technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
Physical Requirements
This position spends time indoors in air-conditioned areas sitting and repetitive hand/finger movement for prolonged periods. On an irregular basis there will be standing, and walking. There will be infrequent bending, twisting and/or stopping, kneeling and/or squatting, and infrequent lifting of 10lbs. to 25lbs. There could be stairs present, with infrequent reaching and/or lifting overhead, grasping/grabbing with hands, or pushing and pulling.
Other Requirements
Working hours are from 7am to 4pm Mountain, M-F. Infrequently this position will be asked to be on call, or available to address issues, or complete special projects, in the evenings and on weekends.
5% travel.
