Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software, which is eClinicalWorks
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with professionalism and accuracy
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
- Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review
- Prior Authorizations
- Support clinical staff by preparing care plans and assisting with intake procedures
- Use computer skills to update patient information in EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks
- Perform general clerical duties including data entry, typing (10 key typing), filing, and managing office supplies
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks for documentation management
- Experience with insurance verification processes
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous medical clinic a MUST; familiarity with medical terminology is a plus!
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for administrative support tasks
- Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous for understanding care plans and health information management
