JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for Development review and inspection, Backflow Prevention Program oversight and Grease Trap Program oversight.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of map reading (Training provided).
- Knowledge of the application of backflow prevention devices (Training provided).
- Knowledge of the Industrial Pretreatment Program in regard to the proper use of grease traps (Training provided).
- Skill in using water pipeline location equipment (Training provided).
- Skill in testing backflow prevention devices (Training provided).
- Skill in the use of computer software (Training provided).
- Ability to maintain orderly records (Training provided).
- Ability to work with the public in a professional manner.
- Capable of being self-initiating and self-managing.
- Ability to communicate with water and sewer customers through written correspondence.
- Ability to communicate well.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School or GED
- One year of prior experience in a water or sewer utility.
- This position is subject to call-in and overtime work.
- Must be able to obtain Georgia certification in distribution and collection systems operations.
- Must be able to obtain backflow prevention device certification.
- Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from state of residency..
